From our highly educated population to our existing base of multinational companies, there are a host of compelling reasons as to why you should be doing business here. Ireland’s performance as a hub for FDI is unrivalled, with one third of multinational companies here having maintained their operations in the country for over 20 years. Our openness to investment, talented workforce, long history of partnering with businesses for growth, and access to the innovation culture that is at the core of so many of our businesses here, are only some of our many strengths. Ireland has performed exceptionally in attracting FDI over many years and continues to do so.
Companies are attracted to investing in Ireland for a variety of reasons, including the ease of doing business in the country thanks to very low bureaucracy. Furthermore, Ireland is the only English-speaking country in the European Union.
When it comes to the EU, Ireland ranks as the country most positive about it. More than three-quarters (77%) of Irish people are optimistic about the EU’s future – that’s the highest percentage in Europe (EU average 40%). Another 90% are in favour of the free movement of EU citizens to live, work, study and conduct business in the EU, compared to an EU average of 81%.
Funding and grants are available to companies investing in Ireland. These are offered to new and existing clients. They include capital and employment, training, research, development and innovation, and lean and green programmes.
