Celebrating Samhain with the Ireland Expo Players at Jubilee Park, 29 & 31 October 2021

Ireland at Expo are delighted to announce that our incredible Expo Players will stage a special Samhain show at Jubilee Park. Animating the Irish Pavilion, the Expo Players are Ireland’s ensemble performing our music throughout Expo. Drawing on some of the most exciting emerging traditional musicians, the Expo players introduce audiences to Irish music, its history, instruments and stories. October 31 is Samhain, a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter. Marking these dates, the Expo Players take audiences on an exploration and celebration of Irish music from its most pure and intimate to its most raucous and exciting modern form.

This concert will feature a special contribution from the exciting new folk band Moxie. Together with their new lead singer from Tunisia, they have merged different influences from past and present generations to forge a unique sound. Their music is a colourful illustration of the multicultural and modern society we live in today.

Performances are scheduled to take place on Friday 29 October 2021 18:15-19:30 and Sunday 31 October 19:00-20:15. Access to these performances is included in your Expo pass. While booking is not required, you are advised to arrive early.
