Welcome to our Bloomsday 2021 event

From Monday 14 to Friday 18 June all eyes will be on Trieste for the 27th International James Joyce Foundation's symposium "Omniscientific Joyce". Originally scheduled for June 2020, this event has attracted over 320 participants but we expect the online audience to be even larger for what is effectively the most signficant Joyce event of the year. 

The event is hosted by hosted by the Trieste Joyce School, Università degli studi di Trieste with the support of the English Department at University of Massachusetts Amherst and it is being supported by the Embassy of Ireland, Italy and the Irish Consulate in Boston as well as by Culture Ireland. 

Among the many guest speakers, the symposium is particularly proud to welcome the internationally acclaimed Irish novelist Colm Tóibín, and leading Irish academics in the field such as Catherine Flynn (UC Berkeley), Cóilín Parsons (Georgetown University, Washington, DC.), keynote speakers – Omniscientific Joyce (
